consigliere

consigliere is a private chief-of-staff kit for an engineering manager. It turns the firehose of inputs a manager swims in — meeting transcripts, Slack threads, Jira tickets, Confluence pages — into a living, grounded memory you can track and query. Where the tech-lead bundle multiplies the team, consigliere multiplies the manager.

What it solves

A manager’s most valuable context — what was decided, who owns what, the political read on a project, the pattern that keeps recurring — lives scattered across transcripts, chats, and tickets, and decays the moment the meeting ends. There’s no good home for it: a team repo is the wrong audience and the wrong privacy boundary. So it stays in the manager’s head and erodes. This bundle gives that context a private, structured, queryable home.

How it works

  • Private workspace — all managerial data lives in a private workspace, never a team repo, and is kept deliberately separate from the team-facing tech-lead bundle by audience, data, and activation context.
  • Digest, don’t dump — inputs are captured, routed to the right context, and distilled into a grounded, structured digest — then fanned out to the contexts and projects they touch.
  • Contexts and projects — memory is organized along two axes: perennial contexts (a report, a stakeholder, a system) and cross-cutting projects.
  • Grounded and consultable — the materialized state is queryable in natural language, read-only, and the heuristics that drive the manager’s judgment are curated through a review loop.

What’s included

  • consigliere-bootstrap — scaffolds the private workspace and its write-guard.
  • digest-source — capture → route → grounded digest → fan-out.
  • context-status — read-only natural-language consult over the state.
  • playbook-review — curate the heuristics loop.
  • consigliere-connect-atlassian — one-time read-only Jira + Confluence setup.
  • consigliere-lens — reframe the knowledge engines through the manager’s lens.
  • consigliere — the role: the political-risk read and the heuristics voice.

When to enable

When you’re a manager who wants a private chief-of-staff that digests your meetings and documents into living, grounded memory you can track and query — separate from anything the team sees.
